Complete guide to using the Digital Job Card Mobile App

Getting Started in 5 Minutes

  1. Download & Install the App
    Scan the QR code from the Get the App page or download the Digital Job Card app directly from the download link. Install it on your Android device. The app works offline and syncs automatically when you're connected.

  2. Open Settings & Configure Server
    Launch the app and tap the menu icon (☰) in the top left corner. Select "Settings" from the menu. Enter the server URL: https://kc.unitac-hamburg.com and click "Save". This connects your app to the Rehoboth Town Council system.

  3. Sign In with Your Credentials
    Enter your username and password provided by your administrator. The app will verify your credentials with the server. Once authenticated, you'll have access to your assigned job cards and can create new ones.

  4. Get Your Assigned Jobs
    From the main menu, tap "Get My Jobs" and select "Rehoboth Town Council Digital Job Cards" from the project list. The app will download all job cards assigned to you. These are stored locally and can be accessed even when offline.

  5. Start Creating Job Cards
    Tap "Start a New Job Card" from the main menu. Fill in the required information including urgency, type of job, location, and description. You can add photos, GPS coordinates, and other relevant data. The app auto-saves your progress and uploads when connected.

Work without internet. All data is saved locally and syncs when you're back online.

Server URL: Always use https://kc.unitac-hamburg.com as your server address.
Credentials: Contact your system administrator if you don't have login credentials.
Data Storage: Records are stored in your browser/device until uploaded. Don't clear your browser data or uninstall the app before syncing.
💡 Pro Tips
â€ĸ Save as Draft: Use the "Save Draft" button to save incomplete job cards and finish them later.
â€ĸ Force Upload: Don't wait for auto-sync - use the "Upload" button in the queue to send data immediately.
â€ĸ Export Data: Use the "Export" button in the queue to download your data as a backup.
â€ĸ Clear Storage: Only use "Clear Storage" when troubleshooting - it deletes all local data!

Troubleshooting

Can't Connect to Server?
Check your internet connection and verify the server URL is correct. Make sure you're using HTTPS (not HTTP) in the URL. Contact your IT administrator if the issue persists.
Jobs Not Syncing?
Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Check the queue to see pending uploads. Try manually clicking the "Upload" button. If uploads continue to fail, export your data and contact support.
App Running Slowly?
Clear completed job cards from your local storage. Export old data before clearing. Close other apps to free up device memory. Consider upgrading to a newer Android device if performance issues persist.
